Pistachio Paté

Ingredients

½ pound each Ground beef and pork sausage
1 cup Finely chopped apple

½ cup Dry bread crumbs
¼ cup Natural American pistachios, chopped
¼ cup Chopped onion
1 Egg, beaten

¼ teaspoon each Salt and oregano, crushed
teaspoon Coarsely ground pepper
Bibb lettuce
Cherry tomatoes
Cornichons or sour pickles

Instructions

Combine ingredients in bowl; mix well.  Lightly pack into 3-cup pan; smooth top so surface is level.  Bake at 350° F. 50 to 60 minutes or until thoroughly cooked.  Drain excess juices; cool.  Cover and chill thoroughly.  Cut into ¼-inch slices.  Serve on lettuce-lined plates.  Garnish with cherry tomatoes and cornichons.
