Pistachios, when eaten with high-carbohydrate foods, may result in lower than expected blood sugar levels, an important factor in reducing risk of diabetes.
1 pound Ground turkey
1/2 cup Dry bread crumbs
1/2 cup Chopped, natural pistachios
1/4 cup Minced onion
1 Egg, beaten
Sweet and Sour Sauce (recipe below)
Chopped, natural pistachios
Combine turkey, bread crumbs, pistachios, onion, egg and salt. Shape into 1 to 1 1/4-inch balls. Place in shallow pan and bake at 400° F. 20 minutes or until cooked through. Stir into Sweet and Sour Sauce; heat thoroughly. Garnish with pistachios.
