American Pistachio Growers celebrated the pistachio harvest by giving away pistachio sample packs at KMJ's 100th anniversary celebration at the Big Fresno Fair. KMJ's 100th Anniversary Party included comedian Paul Rodriguez and the Tower of Power, a rhythm and blues, soul and funk band, who were popular in the '60s and '70s.

American Pistachio Growers threw a pistachio party at the Clovis Farmer's Market in September. Chefs from the Institute of Technology created pistachio dishes including pistachio bark, pistachio cookies and pistachio pie for booth visitors to sample. Several local vendors joined the party by sharing their own pistachio treats.

On October 14, APG exhibited and sponsored a presentation at the Spazio Nutrition Conference in Italy. In his presentation, APG nutrition expert Giorgio Donegani spoke about the role of American pistachios in the Mediterranean Diet and announced the good news that pistachios are an antioxidant powerhouse.

Antioxidant by nature, American pistachios are rich in vitamins and mineral salts. Therefore they get along perfectly with the enthusiast in the long hours of snow sports.

In April, APG sponsored and presented at the National Personal Trainer Conference held in Madrid, Spain. During the conference, APG promoted American pistachios as a complete protein, and educated attendees on the many nutritional health benefits of American pistachios. The conference was attended by 250 personal trainers.

APG collaborated with Men's Health Magazine, one of the most popular fitness and lifestyle magazines in South Korea, for a "Men's Yoga Fever" event in May. Participants were taught about the many health benefits of eating pistachios and were given American pistachios to help recover after their yoga workout.
